Clue #5 – Probably Just Encouraging Krista’s Theory

with 10 comments

Krista thinks I’m selling children – maybe this one got away?

For those of you just joining us, we’re playing a game (for imaginary prizes) of trying (really hard, for serious) to guess the great big fat change that’s happening in my life (not altogether of my choosing). There have been a wide variety of guesses, ranging from child trafficking to Norway. And someone already became the Queen of France, but the entire state of Texas is still up for grabs, so don’t be shy. Step up and make a guess! Or just sit back and watch for clues. Maybe owls or zombies will turn up again, you never know.

  1. Oh, Apartment Therapy…you’re moving from your house to an apartment. One with a really awesome walkway and snazzy new wood railings. And zombies. Always zombies.

Oh, boo, Mary. I love you, woman, but zombies aside, you weren't supposed to make serious guesses, damn it. I'm afraid I'm going to have to disqualify you from the competition for Texas. Sorry. ;)

  2. Hurry up before he gets all the way to the parking lot! I’ve heard you can lure them back in with the promise of a new Xbox 360 game. =) p.s. I LOVE the windows!!

Ohmigosh, there are so many of them, too. Vampire that I am (we have a habit in this house of covering every window until we achieve year round darkness) I'm going to make a concentrated effort to let the light shine in! The view is nothing much, but the light is amazing.

  3. If you’re giving away Texas, do all of the secessionists and Republicans come with it?

Only if you want them, dearest. To do with as you will, mind. ;)

  4. I am bad at coming up with clever guesses. All I want to know is ARE YOU MOVING TO CORVALLIS? Because then I might be able to actually let my shy self out of hermitdom to come visit you and let my awesome kids hang out with your awesome kids.

We tried, we really did. In fact, we've tried several times to relocate to Corvallis (it would be way easier for my shy, 1 vehicle, hates-to-drive-anyway self, too, believe me!) but the difference in rental prices stops us cold every time. It might be worth it in the long run, it's such a lovely community, but space seems so important to our family harmony, I just can't give it up right now.

I've often thought that your awesome kids are a nice match for my awesome kids, though, as you and I might be a little too much of a match in some aspects, which is why we haven't gotten together! But we'll have to put our heads together on it, Linda. How does your August look? ;)
