Neurosis
I was watching television last night. Okay, it was Star Trek. Shut up. Troi was telling Data that she’d noticed he was becoming almost obsessive about his internal workings, and that it could be a sign of a developing neurosis. And I thought, so it’s a bad thing then?
Huh.
Of course, in Data’s case it just turned out that he was subliminally aware of invisible but oogie lifeforms that were leeching onto various crewmembers and sucking out their cellular peptides. “With mint frosting.” Nevermind.
